TR2N (TRON 2) Is Coming…WoooHooo!

(Andy's Note - Wally was a huge fan of the film Tron and was so excited about the upcoming film he wrote us a piece about it. When we see Tron2, we will think of Wally who passed away November 9th, 2008.)

For those of us that grew up in the 80’s, I am 33, the one Tech movie that we all remember is?...Anyone, Anyone, Anyone…Bueller?  Of course it was TRON. 

This 1982 Disney Science Fiction film took the world by storm in theaters and, even as I think about it, I remember the day we went to see it vividly.  It was me, my Mom, Brother, Sister and friends.  I had my mom get me a Slurpee in a Tron cup and as my little fingers clasped the cup, the litho on the cup came off on my hands. 

If you don’t know the story goes as follows.  All the actors in the movie played dual roles.  Jeff Bridges played both a gifted programmer from a company named ENCOM and as a program named Clu (Clue).  Bruce Boxleitner played Alan Bradley and TRON.  Cindy Morgan played the role of Dr. Laura Baines and inside the Master Control Program (MCP) she was Yori.  Also adding to the talented cast was Dan Shor as Ram, David Wagner playing the villain, Ed Dillinger and Sark.  Wager also provided the voice of the Master Control Program.  Flynn (Bridges ) had created many video games for ENCOM and well, it would take way too much time to go in to detail.  Go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tron_(film)#Plot, to get the most in depth details of the movie.

It’s a little fuzzy to begin with but it will give you an idea of what they are shooting for.  While the release date is still unclear, we do know that Jeff Bridges is reprising his role as Flynn.  Keep tuned to TechtalkRadio for more information.  I will be keeping a very close eye on this, check back for an update.
