Gadget Nation - A Journey through the Eccentric world of Invention

Listen to the Audio Segment

We first met Author Steve Greenberg during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas 2008. Steve gave the viewers of KOLD TV a look at some of the gadgets that were featured during the CES Show. We broadcast from the Panasonic booth, with the 150" Plasma television, and featured products from Mattel, Gibson, Wild Charge and of course, Panasonic.

While the products we looked at during the segment had big names behind the production and distribution, Steve and I talked about his then upcoming book called Gadget Nation and his respect and interest in the everyday person with an idea. Steve's book is now out and available and it is a fun and interesting read into the inventor and ideas behind the products.

The book has some gadgets or ideas that could make you chuckle, "who put's a diaper on thier budgie!"  Moreover, readers will more than likely find a reason to put a diaper on the budgie! Of the more then 100 inventions, the reaction I has when reading about 75 percent of these well written hardcover book. Steve has included as much information as he could on the inventor, the idea that sparked the product, cost for creation and income generated from the product.

The Gadgets in Gadget Nation are not all electronic types however the cool factor that many readers will find exist in most of them. Whether the product is a clock that rolls off a table and hides when the snooze is used or a big red ribbon that attaches to the body for the ultimate gift, readers will find themselves intriqued with this book as they turn the pages looking at the next american invention.

Steve visits the show to talk about putting this book together and some of his favorite products he took a look at. We'll find out about his regular looks at gadgets and his Innovation Insider segments for National Television and how he finds some of the products he features on his program.
