Having "user groups" in your community is a tremendous resource. With most user groups, individuals can become members and share information on Hardware, Software and all around tips to make everyday computer life easier. Within most user groups is the term SIG or special interest groups. These groups offer an abundance of information on a specific hardware or software title and are usually up on the updates and changes that would come within this topic. We could classify the National Association of Photoshop Professionals as one of the largest user groups and SIG available.

The NAPP was formed to give expert users and beginners of photoshop a way to connect and learn from each other. Most of this learning comes from seminars and the NAPP's widely read Magazine, Photoshop User. Since the first appearance of the NAPP in 1998, the member organization registers over 50,000 strong and features members from 107 different countries.

The NAPP holds some very informative day seminars across the country which give users the experience to see different tips and tricks, check out new features within the program and programs that interact with photoshop as well as network with other photoshop users. The success of the day seminars which continue to take place throughout the year has grown to a huge event, Photoshop World. We talked with Exective Director Larry Becker on the upcoming Sept 6th 2007 Photoshop World in Las Vegas.

The Photoshop World conference features guest speakers and artist that work with Photoshop as well as highlight features of the popular Adobe program. The Photoshop World event is open to members and non-members however we find from Larry Becker that membership certainly has its rewards. The 3 day long conference and trade show is for not only seasoned pros who work with graphics, desktop publishing and multimedia production on a daily basis but also for the beginner that is looking for faster and easier ways to get task completed.
