Otterbox
Protect and Transport your electronics

For us klutzes of the world, It would truly be great to invest in a cell phone that can do all of the cool features we look for with today's technology and yet, not crack, chip or even stop working with an accidental  drop. I say accidental because I have certainly seen people launch Cell phones after a dropped call on purpose. It is amazing on how many different directions the parts can fly when it is done on purpose. I certainly couldn't fathom the idea though of somebody doing that with todays cell phones with all the great features. With all of the new screens, the new buttons and new lighter designs come more parts that can break, even when it's an accident, that's where Otterbox comes in.

Almost like having an added layer of insurance, Otterbox makes mobile phone, pda and audio player cases for aiding in protecting the devices from inclement weather, dropping and general abuse. The history of the company goes back to 1996 when the founder of the company and his wife were looking for an idea that would utilize Curt Richardson's
25 years experience in molding and tooling that was different. Curt and his wife decided they need something that was innovative. During this time they noticed a gap in the electronics support market for protecting the valuable gear which gave them the idea to begin creating Otterbox's for the individuals that have a tendency to drop or spill onto the units.

In the young life of the company, they have developed quite an inventory of goods to protect everything from PDA's to one of the most talked about products for 2007, the Apple iPhone. Knowing this was going to be a large market segment, Otterbox has created not just one but two products for the iPhone segment, the iPhone Armor and Defender series. With support for the iPhone 4GB and 8GB models, the Otterbox Defender offers 3 layers of protection and is usable while still protected in the Otterbox Defender case. Headphone jacks, volume controls and even the synch/charge are still workable through the case. The popular touch interface on the iPhone is also usable through a patented touch screen membrane. While the Defender version is not entirely waterproof, it will generally protect from the elements of light rain or precipitation. For those that are a bit more rugged using on the iPhone, the Armor series would be the unit of choice.

The Otterbox iPhone Armor is the best way to protect for the outdoorsman, the boater or even the worker around the house that drops stuff a lot, (Raising my hand). The Otterbox is Waterproof, Dustproof, dirtproof, sandproof and of course Drop-Proof.  Two sturdy latches secure the iPhone in the case which is surrounded internally with impact absorbing rubber on all sides. With the touch screen features still accessible and external audio jacks available to the user, this is the best protection available for the iPhone investment keeping it looking great for the life of the product while not making its use out of reach.

Based in Colorado, Otterbox has a wide range of products for many different devices. Even protecting your precious notebook can be done with a Otterbox product. If your Aunt Edna enjoys a fine cigar, the company produces a Cigar Caddy which can also waterproof and serve as a humidor.
