While Sony's Vegas program is a solution for Video production and editing and the Sony Acid program is geared at Bands and music creation, the latest Sound Forge 9 program is the Digital Audio production studio solution. Historically, The Sound Forge program was the first Digital Audio editor on the Windows Platform and has been around total for nearly 10 years. While Sony Vegas and Sony Acid have certain features specific to each program, integration within these programs can be found to save time and trouble to be able to bring the projects in and out of the different programs. An example would be a band creating a track that may need mastering which was created with Sony Acid, the audio file could be brought into Sony Sound Forge 9 and have the special mastering effects applied.
One of the key features to the Sound Forge 9 program is the many different plug-in's that ship with the program including DirectX features such as reverb, delay and special effects, A special Noice reduction audio restoration plug-ins and a special plug-in mastering bundle from Izotope™ including Multi-band Compressor, IRC Limiter and Loudness Maximizer, Analog EQ Parametric Equalizer, and Mastering Reverb. The bundle and extra plug-ins as well as the CD Architect program which allows for the creation of Red Book Audio CD's is valued at well over 700.00.
Sony Sound Forge 9 is geared at the Audio professional and those that want to get the most of the audio for multimedia, video and muisic production. Bands can benefit from the integration of the final mastering process through Sony Music Studios Internet Mastering which can be uploaded directly to the Sony Internet Mastering service. Options for saving out the files are also available in many different formats with the final creation of a project in various files such as MP3, Ogg Vorbis and many more.
If you have ever edited a program and then realized you needed some element within that file but already had saved the program with a specific fade or cut eliminated, Sound Forge 9 features a Undo Past Save feature. With a simple Undo button, files can be restored easily. There are many more features for this Windows Vista compatible product and we'll find out more about them with our discussion with Michael Bryant of Sony Creative Software on Sound Forge 9. The website features a Free fully functional Download Trial to take a test run on as well.
